Radiation side effects
Lung cancer patients often receive radiation in one form or another. There are different types of radiation, which may be to the chest and/or to a part of the body where the cancer has spread such as the brain or bone. Radiation side effects depend on the type of radiation and where on the body it is given.
For a good overview of radiation, side effects and coping, see the National Cancer Institute's booklet, Radiation Therapy and You.
