5th ANNUAL PLAYING FOR THE CURE

It's time again for the 5th annual Playing for a Cure Event on March 20th in Memphis, Tn. There will be middle and high school band, solo and ensemble competitions along with the World Fastest Drummer Competition!  This is lung cancer awareness at it's best.  Lung cancer suvivors, family members and advocates will share personal stories on music stands in the halls for the kids to read.. In the last 4 years, this event has raised in excess of $40,000.00 for the Lungevity Foundation, with that total being matched by individual donors! Join the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation and its Colorado affiliate, the Mary Baretta "Grace" Fund, for the first annual BJALCF/MBGF walk/run in loving memory of Mary Baretta "Grace." You can sit, sprint, crawl, dance, prance, stroll, cajole, saunter, meander, hop, skip or jump to raise much needed funding for Early Detection and Lung Cancer Research. Let's all come together to fight Lung Cancer in loving memory of Mary.
Online Pre-Registration is $25.  Registration in person day of the race is $30. Participants are encouraged to pre-register and only pre-registered participants will be guaranteed a 5K run/walk T-shirt. Race day t-shirts will be limited to the first 400 day of registrants.

Come out and join Lung Cancer Alliance on Sunday, May 2, 2010 for the San Diego Breath of Hope Lung Cancer Walk! Held at the Cancer Survivors Park in Downtown San Diego, this 5K walk will raise awareness and funds to support Lung Cancer Alliance's unique mission: leading the movement to reverse decades of stigma and neglect by empowering patients, elevating awareness and changing health policy. Every dollar you raise will help sustain our patient support, awareness and advocacy programs, leveraging multiple millions in public health dollars that we are securing for lung cancer research, treatment, and early detection. This event is a 3 mile walk/run around a gravel trail next to the parking lot (Small Memorial Park). It is stroller friendly and dogs on leashes are welcome (owners, please clean up after your dogs!).  There will be food available from Poppy's Concession, an adult bean bag game for a $ 5.00 donation, and children's games and activities. Since it is Mothers Day weekend, folks can shop for or with mom from local venders including Natures Garden Candles, AVON Ind. Rep. Billie Jensen, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple and more. Join family, friends and cancer survivors for the Third Annual Meaghan's Hope 5K Race in Rochester, NY.  This year's race is shaping up to the be the biggest and best yet with prizes for the top three male and female runners, prizes for the top male and female walker, random door prizes and free food from the event's sponsors. Registration is $20.00 for adults prior to June 5th, $25.00 for adults after June 5th and $15.00 for Students. Children under 10 run/walk for free.
