LCA Attends 8th Annual PAF Patient Congress

June 25, 2007-- LCA Director of Patient Services, Maureen Rigney, joined over twenty advocacy organizations from across the country at the 8th Annual Patient Advocate Foundation Patient Congress.  The Patient Advocate Foundation is a national non-profit organization that seeks to safeguard patients through effective mediation assuring access to care, maintenance of employment and preservation of their financial stability.  This year, as part of the Congress, LCA attended a White House briefing with Senior Administration Officials on health care.  Representatives from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the National Economic Council provided updates.  CMS educated advocates on new prevention benefits offered through Medicare.
