Joins Elite Group of National Charities
Washington, DC [March 11, 2011]—Today, Lung Cancer Alliance (LCA) announced that it is the recipient of Charity Navigator’s highest 4-star charity rating. With this ranking, LCA joins an elite group of U.S. charities recognized for their exceptional performance.
Charity Navigator is America's premier independent charity evaluator. They help charitable givers make intelligent giving decisions by providing in-depth, objective ratings and analysis of the financial health of America's largest charities.
Charity Navigator awarded LCA four out of a possible four stars. In earning Charity Navigator's highest four star rating, LCA has demonstrated exceptional financial health, outperforming most of its peers in its efforts to manage and grow its finances in the most fiscally responsible way possible.
In receiving the coveted award, Laurie Fenton Ambrose, LCA President & CEO stated, “This is a proud day for our Board, staff and volunteers who work tirelessly each and every day to bring about greater compassion and support for the entire lung cancer community. From day one we set out to pursue our mission observing the highest levels of excellence in everything we do – and now we have validation that we have met this mandate.”
“We are thrilled to join the ranks of leading national charities which hold this four star rating as this designation helps donors make informed giving, particularly for a cause too long ignored and misunderstood”, said Adrienne Halper, LCA Treasurer.
“As a Board Member with a personal connection to this disease, I know that LCA is a wise philanthropic investment. Each donation is being managed in a fiscally responsible way as we continue providing invaluable support services to those affected by lung cancer. In addition, LCA continues to secure millions of public health dollars for lung cancer research and early detection.”
