In a number of communications to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Lung Cancer Alliance urged the national CMS office to 1) instruct all local Medicare contractors that lung cancer screening coverage is available in all settings including Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities across the country and 2) provide oversight to these contractors that are erroneously denying lung cancer screening.  Low dose CT scans are a nationally covered preventive screening service available to Medicare beneficiaries in all settings. Lung Cancer Alliance continues to fight on behalf of all those impacted by lung cancer and those at risk for the disease to ensure they have access to important life-saving technology and benefits.
